Are you ready for some fun sewing? I am so excited to announce that I am joining in with a fabulous sew along – the Summer Block Party!

For the second year in a row, I am participating in the Summer Block Party, from some of your favorite quilty designers! We had so much fun last year that we couldn’t resist joining together for a new sew along this year.
All the fun starts on Monday, June 23 and it is easy to join in – all you have to do is sign up! At the end of this post is an email sign-up – simply fill that out and you will receive a welcome email. (If you are on my mailing list or were a part of last year’s sew along, you will still need to sign up for this – it’s a separate email list.) On Monday, you will receive your first block, and there will be a new pattern every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, through July 14. Nine designers have gathered together, but you only have to sign up once, with one designer, to receive all the blocks. After that, you will be added to the email lists for all the designers, but you can unsubscribe at any time. :)
We partnered with Riley Blake Designs for this sew-along (cause, of course, they are the best!) – just take a look at this gorgeous palette we are sewing with!

For this year’s Summer Block Party, we’ve chosen the following fabrics for our blocks – but you’re free to use whatever fabrics and colors you prefer. Last year, there were some fun scrappy quilts completed!
All fabrics listed below are from Riley Blake Designs
- Background fabric: Confetti Cottons Riley White
- Dainty Daisy Lipstick
- Poparazzi Coral
- Confetti Cottons Frosting
- Dainty Daisy Butterscotch
- Confetti Cottons Honey
- Confetti Cottons Sunshine
- Dainty Daisy Holly
- Confetti Cottons Riley Green
- Sparkler Celery
- Confetti Cottons Raindrop

A handy information sheet is available as a PDF download for all quilters that sign up for the quilt along. It includes exact fabric requirements, a detailed schedule, and a helpful fabric planner sheet so you can plan out your own fabrics.
Get ready to be even more excited – here are the designers who have created the blocks!

Click the link below to sign up for the emails! Everything is free and we can’t for you to see all the blocks!
better late than never!
I love this! Any clues on how much fabric to get?
Will someone offer a kit for the fabric?
Oh, a Christmas in July project would be fun to get done before the holidays! Ho Ho Ho
Looking forward to this QAL. Beverly, do you think your fat quarter bundle of Dainty Daisy would work for this? I have this bundle and would like to use it.
Hi Rita!
I think that will be enough fabric but you’ll need to use other shades in the blocks than those shown. When you sign up you’ll get a fabric requirements list so you can check it against the colors. Happy Sewing!
I am already signed up and received block two, but didn’t receive the fabric requirements and block 1. Is there a way of going back and getting them?
