Riley Blake Designs has released a new low-volume fabric collection —it’s gorgeous! Hush Hush 5 is in stores now and Riley Blake is celebrating with a new sew along, along with a bit of help from some of the RBD designers.

Hush Hush is a collection of 21 low-volume fabrics, each designed by a different Riley Blake designer. Designers have also created quilt blocks to showcase the collection, and Riley Blake has put them together into this fabulous Strength in Every Stitch quilt. Starting today, they are hosting a sew-along for the next two months, and I’m joining in!

You can find all the info on the sew-along on the RBD Blog, along with the schedule and fabric requirements.
You can find the patterns for all the blocks here!
We’ll be making two or three blocks each week. All the patterns are written in 6″ and 12″ sizes and you can mix or match your blocks to really make the quilt your own. If you want to make the quilt as shown, the instructions let you know what size to make. Some blocks are made in both sizes.
This week, we’re making the Strength Surrounds and Haven blocks. I’m sewing along with the Hush Hush 5 prints and my Dainty Daisy fabrics.

The Strength Surrounds block is designed by Heather Peterson and showcases her cute Ladies low volume print. They are tiny little ladybugs, dancing all around the print in super cute, bright colors.
This block is so easy and fun to sew.

I made the 12″ version of the block and I used my Dainty Daisy Butterscotch, Jade, and Denim colors. They look so great with the little ladybugs!

The second block of the week, designed by Amy Smart, is called Haven. The block is in the quilt twice, in the 6″ and 12″ sizes. Amy’s print for Hush Hush 5 is called Love, and it features small rose-colored floral elements.

For this block, I have Amy’s low-volume print as the background, and I used the Dainty Daisy Jade and Lipstick colors for both blocks. Even though the 6″ block is smaller, the pieces are still big enough to make assembly easy.

This is a quick sew-along, and it would be a fun break from holiday projects, or the quilt would make a fabulous gift! We’ll make up blocks each Friday for the next 6 weeks, then put them all together with the cute thread-stitched border.
Come sew along with us!
