I’m so excited to be sewing along with Week One of the Cherry Love sew along, hosted by Fat Quarter Shop! This sweet sew along runs for three weeks and is filled with all the charming details I can’t resist — cherries, hearts, and happy patchwork.

There are two versions of the Cherry Love quilt to choose from. One is a free pattern featuring darling patchwork cherries paired with a heart. The second is a paid PDF version that includes a lovely heart border — and that’s the version I’m making for my quilt. I love how the border frames the cherries and adds just a little extra sweetness to the design.

For my fabrics, I’m sewing with Love You Always by Sandy Gervais for Riley Blake Designs. This collection is so much fun to work with — soft florals, hearts, and tiny x’s and o’s that feel perfectly suited for a cherry-themed quilt. I used the low-volume print from the collection as my background, and it lets those hearts really pop while keeping everything light and cheerful. I’m also using a mint green floral from the collection as my leaves and stems. It’s such a soft, pretty color.

You can find the Cherry Love quilt patterns over at Fat Quarter Shop, and there’s even more fun to be had — two coordinating cross stitch patterns are available so you can stitch up a matching design to go along with your quilt. I love when quilts and cross stitch get to play together!

How to you het the free pattern you mentioned for the quilt along
I need the fabric requirements for an old pattern of yours named Country Daises. That information is not on the pattern I downloaded and paid for in 2022. PLEASE email me the answer. Linda Janovitz
