A Sweet Heart Pillow for Any Season 💗

This sweet heart pillow started out with Valentine’s Day in mind… but honestly? It’s way too cute to pack away after February. With soft colors, pretty florals, and a classic heart shape, this pillow is perfect for adding a little love to your home any time of year.
The star of the pillow is the Be My Valentine block from Gracey Larsen of Burlap and Blossom. Gracey designs the most gorgeous quilt blocks, and I couldn’t resist using one of her sweet heart designs for this project. It has such a timeless feel—romantic without being over-the-top—and works beautifully as a statement pillow.
Turning a Quilt Block into a Pillow

To make this pillow, I simply added the Be My Valentine block to my Add a Block Pillow Pattern, which is a free pattern here on my site. I love this pattern because it’s such an easy way to showcase a favorite quilt block—whether it’s something special like this heart, or one you already have tucked away waiting for the perfect project.
I used my Berry Market fabrics for the pillow – I thought the soft colors were perfect. Once the pillow top was finished, I added a fun pom pom trim all the way around the edges for a little extra charm. Those fluffy pom poms add just the right amount of playful texture and make the pillow feel extra cozy and special.

Sweet, Simple, and So Much Fun
This is one of those projects that’s quick, satisfying, and full of personality—perfect for a weekend sew or a little creative break. It would be darling on a chair, a bench, or tucked into a stack of pillows on a bed. And of course, it makes a lovely handmade gift too. 💝

If you’ve been wanting a fun way to use a favorite quilt block, I hope this pillow gives you a little inspiration. Be sure to check out Gracey’s beautiful patterns, grab the free Add a Block Pillow Pattern, and make one (or two!) of these sweet heart pillows for yourself.
Happy sewing—and don’t forget the pom poms! 💕
